Gender Studies: Teaching, Learning and Studying
13-17 March, 2017

 

Organizer of the international school event: Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University (Ukraine).

Co-organizers of the international school event are partners of GeSt project: Vytautas Magnus University (Lithuania), Central European University (Hungary), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), Sidi Mohammed Ben Abdellah University (Morocco), Sultan Moulay Slimane University (Morocco), the University of Manouba (Tunisia), University of Sousse (Tunisia), Kirovohrad State Pedagogical University (Ukraine), Nizhyn Mykola Gogol State University, (Ukraine).

The purpose of event is to share experience of teaching, learning and research curriculum focused on the area of interdisciplinary Gender Studies, as specified in the project proposal. During the school professors from European, African and Ukrainian universities-participants, as well as invited presenters performed lectures, seminars and discussions addressing gender issues in post-socialist, post-Soviet and African countries as a result of the revolutions raising the problem of gender equality, the role of women in different spheres of social life, especially in politics, in the reconstruction of a democratic society. Special consideration was given to gender identity formation in countries with different traditions, religion, history, the role of gender stereotypes in women’s self-realization.

More than 60 participants were present at the international school event, namely, academicians, teachers, researchers, MA students from Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University. Presented findings and insights in the field served as the basis for discussions between the international school participants.
