New PhD programme in Gender Studies at the Sultan Moulay Slimane University (USMS), Morocco, January, 2019

The application of the doctoral programme in gender has successfully reached the Ministry of Education in Morocco after having passed two local approval procedures  (the commission of Faculty of Humanities and the University commission). The future PhD programme involves four departments out of the seven departments of which the faculty of Humanities is made up (the departments of English Studies (the pilot), French Studies, Arabic Studies and the department of Sociology.) The overall size of the faculty is 14000 students.

This PhD program is a follow-up initiative of MA in Gender Studies at the Sultan Moulay Slimane University (USMS) which was launched in 2017 in the framework of  Erasmus+ project  ‘Gender Studies Curriculum: A Step for Democracy and Peace in EU-Neighbouring Countries with Different Traditions/ GeSt’ (561785-EPP-1-2015-1-LT-EPPKA2-CBHE-JP)
